Olivier Frendo is a managing director at Goldman Sachs International and the co-founder of the African Economic Revolution Fund (AERF), a social impact initiative seeking to fund disruptive businesses in Africa. Olivier spent 17 years in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs and at J.P. Morgan, predominantly based in Johannesburg covering Africa. Over the course of his career, Olivier raised in excess of $25 billion USD for African corporates, governments and financial institutions. He has always had a keen interest in economic development in Africa, even taking a secondment in 2008 with the Sierra Leone project under Tony Blair’s Africa Governance Initiative. Olivier graduated with a degree in Applied Probabilities and Geostatistics from the École des Mines de Paris. He is a French national with Moroccan and Mediterranean roots.
